Amanda Marie Del Cerro, a Miami, Florida native, began her dance training at Patricia Peñenori Dance Center under the guidance of Patricia Peñenori and Michelle Martinez. In 2007, she continued her training at Artistic Dance Center (ADC), where she chose to focus more intensively on ballet under the instruction of Elizabeth Acuña Nuevo and Lissette Salgado Lucas. She graduated from ADC in 2013. During her time there, Amanda earned recognition at prestigious national competitions, including Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) and the American Dance Competition International Ballet Competition (ADCIBC). She also attended renowned summer intensive programs on full and partial scholarships, including BalletMet, Chautauqua Institution, Charlotte Ballet, Joffrey Ballet Chicago, and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.
Amanda was later accepted into the highly regarded Butler Ballet program at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she graduated in 2017. While at Butler, she pursued a degree in Dance Pedagogy with minors in Business Law and Business Entrepreneurship & Innovation. During her collegiate career, she received the Butler Merit Award for her performances in The Nutcracker and was invited to join the National Society of Collegiate Scholars in recognition of her academic achievements. Her performance experience includes productions such as The Nutcracker, Midwinter Dance Festival, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Giselle, and excerpts from Paquita, many of which were performed alongside a live orchestra.
Following her performing career, Amanda transitioned into arts education, teaching dance at TERRA Environmental Research Institute and Archbishop Coleman F. Carroll High School. After three years in education, she joined Miami City Ballet, first serving as School Programs Manager and later as Board Liaison and Executive Relations Assistant. Inspired to further expand her leadership within the arts sector, Amanda returned to school in 2021 to pursue a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management at Florida Atlantic University, graduating in the summer of 2024.
Amanda’s extensive training and education have equipped her to teach the Vaganova, RAD, and Cecchetti methods of ballet. She earned her Level 1 Progressive Ballet Technique certification in 2025 and her Level 2 certification in 2026. Deeply passionate about both teaching and lifelong learning, Amanda continues to grow as an educator and mentor. Her diverse experiences in performance, education, and arts administration ultimately inspired her to embark on a new professional journey with the founding of Ballet Refinery.
